With sixteen lights arranged across its tiers, this chandelier from Quintiesse is built to be the centrepiece of a room, a statement of scale as much as of finish.
A distressed brass finish
The frame is finished in a distressed brass that reads as warm, aged metal rather than a flat, uniform colour, so the surface shifts subtly under different light. It sits comfortably with warm woods, aged mirror, and richly coloured walls, working equally well as the anchor piece in a glamorous scheme or as a softening, antique note against a more contemporary interior.
How it works
Rene takes sixteen E14 bulbs of up to 40W each (bulbs are not supplied). It's dimmable, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs, standard bulbs won't dim even on a dimmer switch. This is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. The chain allows the drop to be adjusted between 79.4cm and 155.6cm, so the finished height can be set to suit the room.
Where it works best
Given its multi tier build and generous depth, Rene suits dining rooms and living rooms with real volume to fill, somewhere the eye is drawn upward and the light can spread out under a tall ceiling. It also works as an unexpected, glamorous choice above a main bedroom's seating area or dressing table. Because the drop is adjustable across a wide range, it's worth measuring your ceiling height and checking it against the 79.4cm to 155.6cm range before ordering, especially in a room with a lower or unusually high ceiling.
