Quintiesse Ren 5 Light Chandelier - Black & Gold

The Ren 5 Light Chandelier takes its cue from a simple found object, reimagined as a cluster of five glowing globes. Matte black pods open onto luminous gold interiors, so each light source is cradled in a flash of warm colour that catches the eye as much when off as when lit. It is a genuine statement piece, built to anchor a room rather than simply light it.

The black and gold finish

Formed from steel with faux alabaster detailing, the fitting pairs a deep matte black exterior with a rich gold lining to each pod. The contrast is the whole point of the design: from most angles you see the confident black silhouette, and only as you move underneath or across the room does the gold interior reveal itself. It sits comfortably against dark paint, warm wood or brass hardware, and equally against a plain white ceiling where it can do the visual work on its own.

How it works

The chandelier takes 5 x 3W LED G9 bulbs, not supplied, so you can choose the exact colour temperature and brightness for the room. It dims, but only if dimmable bulbs are fitted. The drop is adjustable between 53.3cm and 114.2cm, letting you set the hang height to suit your ceiling. As a Class I fitting it must be connected to an earthed supply, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. The fixture and its drop rod or chain are included; bulbs are not.

Where it works best

With a depth of 91.4cm, this is a wide fitting suited to spaces where it has room to spread, above a dining table, over a kitchen island, or in the centre of a generous living room or bedroom. It also works well in an entrance hallway with double height ceilings, where the adjustable drop can be set generously low without crowding the space. At 13kg, it is a substantial fitting, so before installation confirm that your ceiling has a secure, load rated fixing point able to support its weight.

Quintiesse craftsmanship

Quintiesse is a premium brand within the Elstead Lighting Group, developed for the design, hospitality and premium retail markets. The brand states that every fitting goes through prototyping, batch inspection and a formal quality sign off before it is released, and that its UK and Poland operations are ISO 9001:2015 certified. Quintiesse also describes many of its finishes, including the kind of contrasting matte and gloss treatments used here, as drawing on artisan techniques such as hand applied patinas and brushed finishing.
