Quintiesse Pearson Single Medium Wall Lantern - Burnished Bronze

The Pearson wall lantern brings a sense of old world charm to modern outdoor spaces, its cast aluminium and brass frame wrapped around a cylindrical pane of clear glass. Styled after the sconces you might find lighting a Victorian townhouse, it works just as well beside a front door as it does along a garden wall or covered porch.

Burnished bronze finish

This version of the Pearson lantern comes in a burnished bronze, a warm, deep tone worked into the aluminium and brass frame to bring out variation and depth across the cast end caps. It suits brick, render and natural stone equally well, and sits particularly nicely against darker painted doors and traditional ironmongery. The clear glass panel lets the single light source show through cleanly rather than diffusing it, keeping the silhouette crisp after dark.

How it works

The Pearson takes a single E27 bulb, styled to echo a vintage filament lamp, though the bulb itself is not supplied. It will dim if you fit dimmable bulbs, but runs at full brightness with standard ones. As a Class I fitting it needs an earthed electrical supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. It carries an IP44 rating, so it can handle rain and damp outdoor air without trouble, though it should not be positioned where it would face a direct jet of water.

Where it works best

At just over 35cm tall and light enough at 1.9kg to fix to most house walls without special reinforcement, this is a lantern for porches, front entrances and covered exterior walls rather than large open facades. Its IP44 rating makes it a sensible choice for a porch that catches wind driven rain, and its compact 11.5cm width means it will not crowd a narrow door surround.
