Quintiesse Palais Medium LED Wall Light - Polished Nickel

The Quintiesse Palais medium wall light takes its cues from the curved lines and glamour of 1920s architecture, translating that era's love of geometry into a fitting sized for real walls rather than ballrooms. A gently curved steel frame carries a ribbed glass shade, so the light that escapes is softened and broken into fine vertical lines rather than a single flat glow. The polished nickel finish

This version is finished in polished nickel over a steel frame, giving a cool, bright, mirror like surface that catches light from every angle rather than absorbing it. It sits comfortably alongside chrome taps, glass, marble and grey or monochrome palettes, and it tends to look most at home in rooms where the rest of the metalwork, mirror frames or door furniture is also cool toned rather than warm brass or bronze.

How it works

The Palais medium wall light has an integrated 14W LED light source built into the fitting, so there is no separate bulb to choose or replace. It is dimmable, provided it is connected to a suitable LED compatible dimmer switch, so you can pull the light down for evenings without losing the wash across the glass. It is Class I electrically, which means it needs an earthed mains supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician rather than as a DIY job.

Where it works best

At 42.2cm high and with an 11.4cm projection off the wall, this is the larger of the two Palais sizes, and it has enough presence to work as a single statement piece beside a bed, either side of a hallway mirror, or flanking a fireplace in a living or dining room. Because it is wall mounted rather than ceiling hung, it is a straightforward option for rooms where you want lighting at a human height rather than overhead, and it works well in pairs where symmetry matters, such as either side of a headboard or console table.
