The Ophelia 13 Light Multi Tier Chandelier brings together a black steel frame with a natural, camel toned rattan shade, so the hand woven texture is the first thing you notice rather than a single block colour. Designed by Lisa McDennon for Quintiesse, its three tiered basket shape gives a soft, layered glow when lit.

The contrast here does the work, a black frame structure with a warm, natural rattan weave running through each tier. It reads as more relaxed and organic than an all black finish, and pairs naturally with timber furniture, woven textiles and warm neutral schemes, while the black frame keeps it anchored rather than too soft.
How it works
It takes 13 x 40W E14 bulbs, not supplied, so you're free to choose your own colour temperature. Dimming works only if you fit dimmable bulbs. As a Class I fitting it needs an earthed supply and should be wired in by a qualified electrician. The drop adjusts between 87.3cm and 163.5cm, and it carries Quintiesse's standard 2 year warranty.
Where it works best
This is a large scale piece, around 76.2cm across and 76.2cm in height before the drop, so it wants a room with room to breathe, a dining table, a generous living room, or a main bedroom. The wide adjustable drop range makes it a good option for stairwells or rooms with higher than average ceilings, where you can lower it to the right viewing height rather than leaving it too high.

Quintiesse states it is working to increase its use of recycled and recyclable materials and reduce waste across its range, and describes hand woven natural materials, such as the rattan used on Ophelia, as an artisan technique rather than a mass produced finish.
