Quintiesse Market Square Single Wall Light - Oil Rubbed Bronze

The Market Square Single Wall Light is the compact version of this traditional lantern design, pairing clear seeded glass with an oil rubbed bronze frame. It is the sort of fitting that works quietly rather than shouting, ideal where you want the character of an old fashioned street lantern without the scale of a full sized piece.

The oil rubbed bronze finish

Cast in aluminium and finished in oil rubbed bronze, the frame has a rich, uneven brown bronze colouring that Quintiesse achieves using hand applied patina techniques, giving each fitting a slightly individual character rather than a uniform factory sheen. The seeded glass panel has a soft, dimpled texture that diffuses the light and pairs naturally with brick, render, stone or painted timber.

How it works

It takes a single E14 bulb (not supplied), which keeps running costs modest and makes it easy to match to other lanterns in the same finish. It is dimmable if you fit a dimmable bulb, though a standard bulb will not dim correctly. It is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed electrical supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. With an IP44 rating, it is protected against water splashing from any direction, so it can handle typical exterior exposure to rain and damp.

Where it works best

At 35.6cm high with a 10.8cm projection and a weight of just 1.9kg, this is a good choice either side of a front door, along a garden wall, or anywhere you want a pair or run of smaller lanterns rather than one large centrepiece. Its light weight also makes it a practical option for walls where a heavier fitting would be impractical.
