There's something reassuringly solid about the Lakehouse 6 Light Outdoor Chandelier. It's the largest fitting in the Lakehouse family, built to anchor a porch, veranda or covered terrace with six lights arranged across a wide aluminium frame. The relaxed, coastal feel of the range comes through in every detail, from the weathered finish to the seeded glass, without ever feeling fussy.

Aged Zinc with Driftwood Grey

This chandelier is finished in a distressed Aged Zinc, a soft grey with the kind of texture and depth that comes from an aged finish rather than a flat coat of paint. Driftwood Grey trim rings run around the fitting, echoing weathered timber and tying the piece back to a coastal or countryside setting. Clear seeded glass panels catch the texture of the metalwork and soften the light. The frame itself is cast aluminium, chosen for its resistance to the weather rather than for looks alone.

How it works

The chandelier takes 6 x E27 LED bulbs, which are not supplied. It hangs on an adjustable chain with a drop range of 92.7cm to 248.7cm, so the height can be set to suit the space it's going into. It's dimmable, but only if dimmable bulbs are fitted. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earthed supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

At 94.9cm across, this is a fitting for a generous covered space: think a large porch, a veranda, an entrance portico or a covered outdoor dining area, somewhere with the width and height to let it hang properly. The adjustable drop is useful if you're working with a pitched porch roof or a taller than average ceiling height, as it lets you set the clearance rather than being stuck with a fixed length. At 18kg it's a substantial fitting, so check that whatever it's hanging from, whether that's a ceiling joist or a porch beam, has a secure, load rated fixing point before installation.
