The Fairfield is a traditional outdoor wall lantern reimagined with clean, contemporary lines. Sized for porches and front doors, this single light lantern pairs an aluminium frame finished in black with clear seeded glass panels, giving a hint of period lantern charm without overwhelming a modern facade.

Black finish and seeded glass

The frame is cast in aluminium and finished in black, giving a crisp, matte surface that copes well with life outdoors. Clear seeded glass panels sit within the frame, catching and softening the light rather than throwing a harsh beam. The combination works particularly well against white render, grey stone or black painted joinery, and suits both new build and period properties looking for a slightly less ornate lantern.

How it works

Fairfield takes a single E27 bulb, which is not supplied. Fit a dimmable LED bulb if you want to dim the light, a standard bulb will simply run at full brightness. The lantern is fixed to the wall via its backplate, so there is no adjustable arm or drop, it is positioned directly where you want the light to fall. Only the fitting itself is included.

Where it works best

At just under 28cm tall and 1.6kg, this medium lantern is an easy fit either side of a standard front door, on a porch, or beside a garage or side entrance where a smaller scale fitting looks right. Its IP44 rating means it copes well with rain and general exposure in a typical wall mounted position, though it is still worth siting it under some cover rather than in direct, driving rain.
