Quintiesse Doral 2 Light Pendant - Matte White & Vintage Brass

Doral takes the familiar dome pendant and reworks it with texture and light. Around the base of the steel dome runs a band of woven rattan, and near the top, where the dome meets the stem, the steel housing is cut with a series of delicate perforations that let a little light escape and add an unexpected, almost lace like detail. It's a pendant that feels both classic in outline and a little more considered in the finish than a plain metal dome.

Matte white and vintage brass

Here the dome is finished in a soft matte white, a lighter, more understated take on the shape that suits brighter kitchens and pared back interiors. Vintage brass fittings run through the design, warming up the white steel rather than competing with it, and the woven rattan trim at the base brings in a natural, slightly informal texture that keeps the pendant from feeling too clinical. Inside, a frosted glass diffuser softens the light output so the bulb itself stays out of view. It's a finish that sits comfortably in Scandinavian style kitchens, coastal interiors or anywhere white cabinetry and natural materials are already doing the work.

How it works

The Doral is fitted for 2 x E27 bulbs of up to 60W each (bulbs are not supplied), giving a reasonably wide spread of light for a single pendant. It will dim, but only when dimmable bulbs are used, standard bulbs won't respond on a dimmer circuit. This is a Class I fitting, meaning it needs an earthed supply and should be connected by a qualified electrician. The stem allows the drop to be adjusted from around 53.3cm to 156.9cm, so it's worth measuring your ceiling height and preferred hanging clearance before it goes in.

Where it works best

At 41.7cm across, the Doral has enough presence to work as a statement pendant over a kitchen island, and because the drop adjusts across such a wide range, the same fitting can be hung low over a breakfast bar or set higher in a room with more headroom. It's equally at home over a dining table or in an open plan kitchen diner where the white and brass finish can pick up the light. The adjustable stem also makes it a sensible option for spaces with taller ceilings, including stairwells, where a fixed drop pendant would leave too much cable, or not enough.
