Quintiesse Cumberland 1 Light Pendant - Matte Black

Inspired by the graceful curve of a water reed, the Cumberland pendant pairs an elongated opal glass capsule with fine metal supports for a light, understated silhouette. It's designed to work equally well as a single drop or as part of a clustered arrangement, where the repetition of the glass shape does the visual work.

Matte black finish

Here the Cumberland's steel frame is finished in a deep matte black, a flat, non reflective finish that throws the emphasis onto the opal white glass shade itself. It's a versatile pairing that works equally well against pale walls, dark cabinetry, or alongside other black ironmongery and fittings, without adding visual weight to the room.

How it works

An integrated 10W LED module is built into the fitting rather than a separate replaceable bulb, so there's nothing to source or fit yourself. It delivers 810 lumens of warm white 3000K light and is dimmable, provided a compatible LED dimmer switch (not included) is fitted to the circuit. The suspension is adjustable from 63.5cm to 303.5cm, letting you set the finished drop to suit the room. It's Class II rated, so it's double insulated and doesn't require an earthed connection.

Where it works best

Standing 54.8cm tall with a 13cm diameter, this pendant is a good fit for bedrooms, kitchens and dining rooms, whether hung as a single bedside or breakfast bar light or repeated in a row above a kitchen island. Because the drop extends up to just over 3 metres, it also has enough range to work in rooms with taller ceilings or in stairwells, where getting the hanging height right matters more than in a standard room.
