Quintiesse Ashbern Single Large IP44 Wall Lantern - Textured Black

The Ashbern Single Large Wall Lantern is the largest of the collection's box lanterns, a substantial exterior light finished in Textured Black for entrances, porches and facades that can carry a bigger fitting. Its overlapping arc glass panels give the design more presence at this scale, without moving away from the classic lantern silhouette.

Textured Black finish

The Textured Black finish here is applied over an aluminium frame, with a grained, matt surface rather than a glossy paint effect. Clear seeded glass panels, etched on the inside, wrap the box shaped frame and diffuse the bulb rather than exposing it directly. On a larger fitting like this, both the finish and the glass detail read more clearly at a distance, so it suits facades, gate piers, double door porches or any exterior wall where the lantern is seen from the street as well as up close.

How it works

The lantern is designed around a single E27 LED bulb, not supplied, so brightness and colour temperature are down to whichever bulb you fit. It will dim if a dimmable bulb is used, but not with standard LEDs. This is a Class I fitting, so it requires an earthed electrical supply and should be wired in by a qualified electrician. The fitting itself is supplied ready to wire; no bulb is included.

Where it works best

At 46.4cm high, 24cm wide and projecting 24.8cm, this is a genuinely large wall lantern, well suited to wide porches, grand entrances, gate piers or facades where a smaller fitting would look lost. At 6kg it is the heaviest of the three sizes in the Ashbern range, reflecting its larger aluminium frame and glass panels. Its IP44 rating means it is built for exposure to wind and rain, making it as much at home on an open, unsheltered wall as under a porch canopy.
