One Small Head, Full Control Over the Aim
Fade Mini Adjustable takes the same compact, trimless downlight as Fade Mini Fixed and adds one crucial difference: you can tilt it. At 300lm from a 55mm cut out, it keeps the same discreet footprint but lets you redirect the beam after the ceiling is finished, so a single small fitting can do the work of highlighting a feature as well as lighting a room.
Choosing Your Configuration
As with all Fade fittings, Fade Mini Adjustable is made to order around the combination you specify.
- Driver: 0 to 10V Dimming, Dali, Mains Dimming or Non Dimming. The 0 to 10V driver does not fit through the 55mm cut out and needs to be positioned above the ceiling void.
- Engine: choose Origin (General Use) for general ambient light, or Origin Natural (Highest Quality) where accurate colour rendering on finishes and skin tones matters more.
- Colour temperature: 2700K or 3000K, running from a warmer glow to a cleaner neutral white.
- Beam angle: from a tight 18° to 20° spot through to a broader 30° to 35° wash, useful given this fitting will often be aimed at a specific target.
- IP rating: IP54 for standard interiors, IP65 where the location may see damp or splashing.
Bezel and baffle are supplied in white RAL 9010 and black respectively. Other finishes and engines can be quoted by Orluna on request.
How It Works
Like its Fixed sibling, Fade Mini Adjustable installs trimless, with a plaster in plate that sits flush against the ceiling so only the 51mm bezel is visible. The difference is inside the housing, where an adjustable gimbal mechanism lets the LED engine be tilted and rotated within the fitting after installation, while the low glare baffle continues to shield the light source from view at normal viewing angles. An aluminium body draws heat away from the LED as it operates, protecting colour consistency and output over the life of the fitting.
Where It Works Best
Because it can be aimed, Fade Mini Adjustable earns its place in rooms where the lighting plan needs some flexibility: over a console table where artwork might change, in a bedroom where the exact position of a feature isn't fixed until furniture goes in, or in retail displays where stock moves. Its compact 55mm cut out means this flexibility comes without a large ceiling aperture, unlike the larger Adjustable model in the Fade range, which suits taller spaces and higher output requirements.
Made By Orluna
Orluna's engineering roots go back to 1973, when a team of aeronautical engineers began putting early LED technology to work in demanding civil and military applications. That focus on mechanical reliability rather than decoration has stayed with the company. Since Andrew Kilborn took the helm in 2009 and steered Orluna toward architectural lighting, ranges such as Quad 50 and later Fade have been designed with the same emphasis on light quality: Orluna describes its approach as prioritising how light renders a space over simply maximising lumen output, testing complete fittings rather than quoting raw LED chip figures.

Questions People Ask
- How far can the head be adjusted? Orluna does not publish a specific tilt angle for this model, but the gimbal mechanism allows the beam to be redirected within the fitting after installation, unlike the Fixed version.
- Will the 0 to 10V driver fit inside the ceiling void? No, it does not fit through the 55mm cut out, so it must be located above the ceiling.
- Is this suitable for bathrooms? Choosing the IP65 configuration makes it suitable for areas with occasional damp exposure; check the zone requirements with your electrician.
