Confident, Uninterrupted Light
Fade Fixed is the straightforward member of the Fade family: a trimless, low glare downlight with a fixed beam aimed straight down. Where a project calls for a clean grid of ceiling lights rather than individually aimed accents, its 89mm cut out and 80mm bezel deliver Orluna's low glare optics without the extra mechanism of an adjustable head.
Choosing Your Configuration
Fade Fixed shares its full engine and beam range with the rest of the larger Fade family, so there's genuine choice even though the head itself doesn't move.
- Driver: 0 to 10V Dimming, Dali, Mains Dimming or Non Dimming.
- Engine: Origin (General Use) for everyday spaces, Origin Natural (Highest Quality) for the most accurate colour rendering, Origin Warm Dim (1800K to 3000K) for a halogen style warm dim effect, or Origin loPro where ceiling void depth is limited.
- Colour temperature: 2700K, 3000K, or the 1800K to 3000K range if Warm Dim is specified.
- Beam angle: tight 18° to 20° options for defined pools of light, mid range angles around 26° to 33°, or wide 41° to 57° options for a broad, even wash across a ceiling grid.
- IP rating: IP54 for standard interiors, IP65 where damp resistance is needed.
Standard finish is a white RAL 9010 bezel with a black baffle. Further finishes can be quoted by Orluna directly.
How It Works
The plaster in plate sits flush with the ceiling so the 80mm bezel reads as a clean, minimal circle rather than a protruding fitting. A deep set LED source and extended black baffle keep the light source itself out of view from typical sightlines, which is what gives the low glare effect its name, while the fixed head means there is no visible adjustment mechanism to interrupt that clean line. An aluminium body manages heat across the LED engine, protecting colour output and extending working life.
Where It Works Best
Fade Fixed suits spaces where the lighting plan is decided at design stage and doesn't need to change afterwards: open plan living areas, corridors, and repeated ceiling grids where uniformity matters more than the ability to redirect individual heads. That's the key difference from Fade Adjustable, which is the better specification where a room's use, furniture or artwork is likely to shift over time, and from Fade Twin Adjustable, which serves two light points from a single cut out rather than one.
Made By Orluna
Orluna traces its history back to 1973, when it was founded by aeronautical engineers applying early LED technology to civil and military applications long before LEDs were common in architectural lighting. That background in engineering for reliability rather than decoration still shapes the company. Since 2009, under Andrew Kilborn, Orluna has focused on the high end architectural market, and its Origin Natural engine reflects that shift: Orluna reports typical figures of CRI 98 and R9 99, meaning strong reds render accurately rather than looking flat, alongside 2 step SDCM consistency so fittings across a room appear uniform in colour.

Questions People Ask
- Can Fade Fixed be aimed after installation? No, the beam direction is set during manufacture. If you need to redirect light after fitting, Fade Adjustable uses the same bezel and cut out sizing with a tiltable head.
- What is Origin Warm Dim? It's an engine option that shifts colour temperature from 3000K down to 1800K as the fitting is dimmed, similar to the way halogen lighting behaves.
- Is this fitting suitable for a low ceiling void? Yes, if you specify the Origin loPro engine, which is designed for reduced installation depth.
