Dino Adjustable: Darklighter Control, Fully Aimable

Dino Adjustable takes Orluna's darklighter glare control and puts it on a tilting head, so light can be aimed at a specific point in the room while the source itself stays hidden from view.

Choosing your configuration

The full Dino option set is available on this fitting.

• Driver: 0 to 10V dimming, Dali, mains dimming or non dimming.
• Engine: Origin for general use, Origin Natural for the highest colour quality, Origin Warm Dim for a warm glow from 1800K to 3000K, or Origin loPro for shallow voids.
• Lamp temperature: 1800K to 3000K, 2700K, or 3000K.
• Beam: 19° up to 59°, one of the widest beam ranges in the Orluna range.
• IP rating: IP54 or IP65.
• Bezel and baffle: white (RAL 9010) bezel with a black baffle.

How It Works

A double black baffle sits deep inside the bezel, keeping the LED source out of direct sightlines so glare stays low whether you are standing under the fitting or viewing it from across the room, even once the head has been tilted to aim the beam. A wide aperture behind that baffle helps the fitting deliver a stronger output than its slimline bezel suggests, and the aluminium body manages heat to protect colour consistency over time.

Where It Works Best

This is the fitting to specify for general downlighting that also needs the option to aim, retail displays, feature walls, kitchen islands, anywhere a single beam might need to move slightly off vertical. Within the Dino family, it sits between the higher output Twin Adjustable and the simpler Dino Fixed, offering single beam flexibility without the twin head's extra output or the fixed version's completely static optic. Compared with the Suri range, Dino's rounder, more overt bezel and darklighter baffle are built specifically to control glare at an angle, where Suri's minimal trim aesthetic favours disappearing into the ceiling instead.

Orluna's approach to light quality goes beyond lumen count. Rather than quoting theoretical LED chip output, Orluna tests completed fittings like Dino Adjustable after optical, thermal, bezel and baffle losses, at normal operating temperature, so the photometry it publishes reflects how the fitting actually performs once installed, not a best case figure from the LED alone.

Does tilting the head increase visible glare? No, the double black baffle is designed to keep glare low even when the beam is angled.

How does this differ from Dino Fixed? Dino Adjustable has a tilting head for aiming the beam, while Dino Fixed points straight down.
