Nuura Miira 1 Light Pendant - Rock Grey & Opal Glass

Miira 1 is a single pendant light from Nuura's Miira collection, a slender metal stem dropping to a hand blown glass globe. It's designed to be used alone over a small table, or repeated in a row for a longer run of light, and leans on the same restrained, Nordic proportions found across the whole Miira range.

Rock grey and opal glass

This version finishes the stem in rock grey, a matte, cool grey metal, paired with an opal white glass globe. The opal glass diffuses the light evenly through the whole globe, giving a soft, gentle glow rather than a sharp point of brightness, while the rock grey stem stays quiet and neutral against most colour schemes. It works well in muted, contemporary interiors, alongside stone, concrete or pale timber.

How it works

Miira 1 takes a single G9 lamp (7W). It's a hardwired pendant, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. The glass globe measures around Ø14cm, with the fitting itself around 34.5cm in height, and a cable of up to 250cm, allowing the drop height to be adjusted at installation.

Where it works best

Miira 1 works well over a small dining table, a bedside table, or as a repeated row over a kitchen island or breakfast bar. It's rated IP20, which means it's designed for dry indoor spaces only, so it's best kept away from bathrooms and other wet areas.

About Nuura

Nuura is a Danish lighting brand founded in Copenhagen in 2017 by Sofie Refer, Nadia Lassen and Peter Østerberg. Miira is one of its most versatile collections, running from single pendants like this one up to large multi arm chandeliers, all built around the same mouth blown glass globe.
