Nuura Miira 1 Light Pendant - Rock Grey & Opal Glass

Miira 1 is a single pendant light from Nuura's Miira collection, a slender metal stem dropping to a hand blown glass globe. It's designed to be used alone over a small table, or repeated in a row for a longer run of light, and leans on the same restrained, Nordic proportions found across the whole Miira range.

This version finishes the stem in rock grey, a matte, cool grey metal, paired with an opal white glass globe. The opal glass diffuses the light evenly through the whole globe, giving a soft, gentle glow rather than a sharp point of brightness, while the rock grey stem stays quiet and neutral against most colour schemes. It works well in muted, contemporary interiors, alongside stone, concrete or pale timber.

How it works

Miira 1 takes a single G9 lamp (7W). It's a hardwired pendant, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. The glass globe measures around Ø14cm, with the fitting itself around 34.5cm in height, and a cable of up to 250cm, allowing the drop height to be adjusted at installation.

Where it works best

Miira 1 works well over a small dining table, a bedside table, or as a repeated row over a kitchen island or breakfast bar. It's rated IP20, which means it's designed for dry indoor spaces only, so it's best kept away from bathrooms and other wet areas.

Does the Nuura Miira 1 pendant need an electrician to fit it? Yes, it is a hardwired ceiling pendant. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Can I return it? No. Nuura fittings are made to order, so they are non-returnable once ordered, unless an item arrives faulty.

What bulb does it take, and can it be dimmed? It takes one G9 LED lamp, 7W maximum, which is not supplied. It can be dimmed if you fit a dimmable LED lamp that suits your dimmer circuit.

How far does it hang, and can I adjust the drop? The fitting is 345mm high with a 140mm diameter globe. The fabric covered cable is up to 2500mm, so the drop can be set at installation.

Can I use it in a bathroom? No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only, such as a kitchen or dining room.

Will the glass and finish match the photos exactly? The globe is mouth blown opal glass and the stem is hand finished, so small differences between pieces are normal, and screens show colour differently. Call customer service if you are unsure.
