The finish is hand painted in the ceramics studio at Mullan Village, County Monaghan, Ireland, inspired by the iron rich soils and weathered stone of the surrounding Irish countryside. Every lamp is shaped and finished individually, which means the red iron tones on your lamp will be subtly different from every other one that leaves the kiln — that is not an inconsistency, it is the whole point.

Mullan Lighting was founded by architect Mike Treanor in 2009, inside a restored 19th century flax mill that had stood derelict in Mullan Village for decades. The ceramic studio that followed became a way of reconnecting the village with its centuries old identity as a place of making, and ceramicist Stephen Kieran was instrumental in developing a collection of finishes that drew directly from the natural world surrounding the studio. Today the brand employs over 100 people, distributes to more than 55 countries, and has lit some of the world's most admired hospitality interiors.

The Rivale Red Iron table lamp brings character and grounded warmth to any space where it is placed.
