Marbled ceramic has a timeless quality that design trends cannot diminish. The Mullan Rivale Table Lamp in Marbled finish brings that quality into a lighting piece with genuine substance, the swirling tones of the hand painted ceramic base shifting between cream, grey and warm stone depending on the light around it. Every base is individually shaped and painted by skilled artisans in the ceramics studio at Mullan Village, County Monaghan, Ireland, then fired in the kiln on site. The marbling is never uniform and never repeated, which means the lamp you receive is the only one of its kind.

Mullan Lighting was established in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor inside a restored 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village. The ceramics collection was developed with ceramicist Stephen Kieran, whose design philosophy centres on embracing what clay truly is — raw, organic and naturally varied. The marbled finish is a direct expression of that philosophy, achieved through a hand painting process that references the way the surrounding Irish landscape weathers and layers over time. Today Mullan employs over 100 craftspeople and exports to more than 55 countries, with installations in some of the most recognised hospitality venues in the world.

A bedroom with warm linen, natural oak and brushed brass hardware is an ideal setting.
