Every Rivale pendant begins its life in the ceramics studio at Mullan Village, County Monaghan, Ireland, where skilled artisans shape each shade by hand, apply the finish individually, and fire it in the on-site kiln. Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who transformed a derelict 19th century flax mill into one of Ireland's most respected lighting studios. The village name itself is derived from the Irish word muileann, meaning mill, and that sense of deep rooted craft runs through every piece the studio produces. Today Mullan employs over 100 people and its work is installed in landmark hospitality venues across the globe, from the Titanic Hotel Belfast to Adare Manor and beyond.
