The Mullan Rivale Ceiling Light in Matte White Striped brings the clean, precise character of the matte white striped finish to a flush ceramic and glass ceiling fitting, with a choice of glass shade option that adds a further dimension of light quality and visual refinement. The ceramic shade is formed and hand painted at the studio in Mullan Village, County Monaghan, Ireland, with the matte white ground and fine striped detailing applied individually to every piece before firing. The hand painting introduces a natural variation to the striped surface that confirms the handmade character of every piece, and the glass shade options — clear, frosted or opal — allow you to tailor the quality of the light to the room and your preference.
Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor inside a restored 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village. The matte white striped finish reflects the clean, bright quality of the bleached stone and whitewashed surfaces found throughout the historic buildings of County Monaghan, and the Rivale ceiling light pairs this quality with glass for a flush fitting of greater visual and functional depth. Every piece is made entirely to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass, and the studio exports to more than 55 countries.
