The Parva Pendant in Black Clay is a 30cm tall, 14cm wide IP44 rated bathroom pendant with an upright, architectural profile that sets it apart from standard IP rated pendants. The black clay finish is applied by hand at Mullan Village, County Monaghan, and fired on site, preserving the natural surface texture and variation of the clay. A glass diffuser provides the IP44 certification while the tall black clay ceramic body does the visual work above it. How It Works

The glass diffuser sits at the base of the shade and provides IP44 compliance. The E27 bulb's light is diffused and directed downward and outward into the bathroom. The tall black clay ceramic body sits above, absorbing light at the surface and reading as a grounded, sculptural form above the bath or in the shower room. A warm white dimmable E27 LED is recommended for the most atmospheric result.

In a shower room or wet room it brings handmade craft quality to a space that standard IP pendants never aspire to. The Story Behind Mullan

Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. The black clay finish draws from the iron rich soils and ancient bog landscapes of that part of Ireland. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

FAQs

Which bathroom zone is this rated for?
The Parva Pendant is IP44 rated for Zone 2, the area beyond 0.6m from the edge of a bath or shower. It is not suitable for Zone 0 or Zone 1.

Can I use this above a freestanding bath?
Yes, provided the installation point falls within Zone 2. Your NICEIC electrician will confirm the exact zone.

What bulb does this take?
E27 screw fit, maximum 6.5W. Bulb not included. A warm white dimmable LED E27 gives the best result.

Can I use a dimmable bulb?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable E27 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulb not included.

Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
