Marbled Ceramic and Glass: A Wall Light With Natural Stone Quality
The Nakaii Marbled Wall Light brings the timeless visual quality of hand painted marbled ceramic to a wall fitting with a glass shade. At 24cm tall and 20cm wide it has a substantial, architectural presence on a wall. The swirling tones of cream, warm grey and natural stone are applied individually at Mullan Village before firing. No two pieces carry an identical pattern. The glass shade provides a diffuser for the G9 bulb, softening and distributing the light into the room while the marbled ceramic body reads as a quietly beautiful sculptural form on the wall.
How It Works
The glass shade faces outward, diffusing and distributing the G9 bulb's warm light across the wall and into the room. The marbled ceramic body adds visual depth and natural stone quality at the wall surface, the tones shifting as the quality of light around it changes through the day. A warm white dimmable G9 LED suits the marbled finish well in most room settings.

The marbled finish works across a very wide range of interior styles and pairs well with natural stone surfaces, warm timber, aged brass and soft neutral textiles. Used as a pair either side of a bed or a fireplace it creates a considered, balanced arrangement of real visual quality.
The Story Behind Mullan
Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. Ceramicist Stephen Kieran developed the marbling technique by drawing on the layered stone and mineral textures of the Irish landscape surrounding the village. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

What bulb does the Nakaii Wall Light take?
It takes a G9 bulb, maximum 6.5W. Bulb not included. A warm white LED G9 suits the marbled finish well.
Will my wall light look exactly like the photo?
The marbling is hand painted so the pattern on your piece will differ from the photos. The tones will be consistent, cream, warm grey and natural stone, but the character of the marbling is unique to every piece.
Is this suitable for a bathroom?
The Nakaii Wall Light is IP20 rated and suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not certified for bathroom wet zones. Please contact us if you need a bathroom rated fitting and we will advise.
Can I use a dimmable bulb?
Yes. Compatible with dimmable G9 LED bulbs. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED use. Bulb not included.
Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
