The Nagi Wall Light in Red Iron combines the warm, earthy intensity of the red iron ceramic finish with the leather strap bracket detail that makes the Nagi range distinctive in the Mullan collection. At 26cm tall with a 19cm projection it has a confident, upright presence on a wall. The iron tones ranging from warm terracotta through to deeper rust and ochre are applied by hand at Mullan Village and fixed through firing, preserving natural variation from piece to piece. The leather strap adds a tactile, artisan quality that sets the Nagi apart from purely ceramic or purely metal wall lights, and the combination of earthy red iron ceramic and warm leather reads as particularly natural and considered.

How It Works

The open ceramic shade faces outward and slightly downward, directing the E27 bulb's warmth across the wall and into the room. The red iron tones deepen and enrich in warm evening light. A warm white dimmable E27 LED is strongly recommended to bring out the full depth and richness of this finish.

The Red Iron Nagi is at home in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where earthy warmth on a wall is valued and where the combination of ceramic, brass and leather adds material layering and character. It pairs particularly well with aged timber, antique brass, terracotta tiles, warm woven textiles and natural rattan. Used as a pair it creates a warm, balanced arrangement on any wall.

The Story Behind Mullan

Mullan Lighting was founded in 2009 by architect Mike Treanor, who restored a derelict 19th century flax mill in Mullan Village, County Monaghan. Ceramicist Stephen Kieran developed the red iron finish in direct response to the iron rich soils and weathered stone of the County Monaghan landscape. Over 100 craftspeople work at the studio and every piece is made to order using sustainable clay and recycled brass.

What is the leather strap on the Nagi?
The leather strap is a decorative detail on the wall bracket that adds a tactile, artisan quality to the fitting. It is part of the standard design and included as supplied.

What bulb does the Nagi Wall Light take?
It takes a standard E27 screw fit bulb, maximum 40W. Bulb not included. A warm white LED E27 is recommended. The warmer the colour temperature, the richer the red iron tones appear in the evening.

Will my wall light look exactly like the photo?
Close but not identical. The red iron finish is hand applied and fired, so depth of colour and surface texture vary naturally between pieces.

Is this suitable for a bathroom?
The Nagi Wall Light is IP20 rated and suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not certified for bathroom wet zones.

Can I return it?
No. Every Mullan light is made to order, so it cannot be returned unless it arrives faulty or damaged. If anything is wrong when it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.
