Corinto takes the idea of a chandelier arm and turns it into something closer to a ribbon caught mid movement. Its curved silver chrome arms sweep outward and loop back on themselves, each one lit along its length, so the fitting reads as a single continuous gesture rather than a collection of separate lamps.

Corinto in silver chrome is built to work two ways from the same fitting: suspended on its twin cables as a proper pendant with the ceiling plate set well above the arms, or drawn right up so the arms sit almost flush against the ceiling for rooms where headroom is tighter. Both configurations use the identical arm assembly, so the decision comes down to your ceiling height and how much drama you want the piece to have, rather than a different finish or shade to choose between.

How It Works

The light comes from an integrated 80W LED array built into the arms themselves, rated at 6400lm (plus or minus 5%) with a warm 3000K colour temperature and a CRI of 80, and a 120 degree beam angle that spreads the glow generously rather than casting it in a tight pool. Because the LED is built in rather than fitted as a separate replaceable lamp, there's nothing to change over its working life, and Mantra backs it with a 3 year warranty. Wiring is to Class I standard, with an IP20 rating suited to dry indoor rooms.

Where It Works Best

At 140cm across and 60cm from top to bottom, this is a fitting for a room with the space to let it spread out properly, an open plan living or dining area, or a hallway with enough width to appreciate the shape from below. Set as a pendant it becomes a genuine focal point over a table; mounted semi flush it still carries plenty of presence for lower ceilinged rooms.

Corinto comes from Spanish designer Jose Ignacio Ballester, who joined Mantra's in house team in 2007 and has gone on to shape several of the brand's collections since. Mantra itself has been trading out of Valencia since 2000, and the pitch from the start was designer led lighting without the price tag of a genuinely premium brand, an approach that's kept it in wide UK retail distribution more than two decades on. The curved, continuous form of Corinto's arms is a good example of that design first thinking, built around a strong sculptural idea rather than simply dressing up a standard bulb and shade.

Can Corinto be fitted as a flush ceiling light instead of a hanging pendant?
Yes. The same fitting can be drawn up so the arms sit close to the ceiling for a semi flush finish, or lowered on its cables as a full pendant.

Can the bulbs be replaced?
The LED is integrated into the arms rather than fitted as a separate lamp, so there's nothing to swap out. It's covered by a 3 year warranty.
