Lamella's Fold Sits Flush to the Ceiling
A flush fitting version of Lamella, designed by Hallgeir Homstvedt and Jonah Takagi, bringing the same curved, mushroom gill inspired pleat to a low profile fixture that sits close to the ceiling or wall rather than hanging on a cord.

How it works
It projects 12cm from the surface with a 35cm diameter, on an E27 fitting with a maximum recommended 10W LED (bulb not included), wired via a flat, white cord rather than a hanging drop. We'd recommend a qualified electrician fits any hardwired ceiling or wall light.
Where it works best
Its low profile suits a hallway, landing or lower ceiling where a hanging pendant isn't practical, or as a wall light beside a bed or in a corridor.
Made By Le Klint
Le Klint's pleated paper craft dates back to around 1900, when P.V. Jensen-Klint hand folded a petroleum lamp shade, taking his cue from Japanese origami. What began as a family experiment was refined over the following decades before Tage Klint formally founded Le Klint as a company in 1943, a year after Esben Klint had designed the Model 107, one of the collection's defining early shapes. The Lamella shade shown here carries that same fold, still pleated by hand in the company's workshop in Odense, where a new folder typically needs around a year just to learn the technique and two to three years more before they're trusted to fold it unsupervised.
