A Ring, Not a Bell
True to its name, Donut is designed by Lise Navne around a simple round shape, its hand folded pleats wrapped into a ring rather than a bell or drum. It's available in two sizes and in stainless steel or brass.

The pleated shade sits inside a stainless steel or brass ring, the metal framing the fold rather than covering it.
How it works
Small measures 47cm in diameter and stands 26cm high; Large measures 53cm in diameter and stands 28cm high. Both take an E27 fitting with a maximum recommended 20W LED, and this pendant is supplied with its light source included. It hangs on 300cm of round, white cord. We'd recommend a qualified electrician fits any hardwired ceiling pendant.
Where it works best
Its ring shaped silhouette suits a dining table or a space where you want a strong graphic shape as much as ambient light.

Made By Le Klint
Every Donut shade is still hand pleated in Le Klint's workshop in Odense, a craft the company traces back to around 1900, when P.V. Jensen-Klint folded a sheet of paper into a shade for a petroleum lamp, borrowing ideas from Japanese paper folding. His son Tage Klint later turned that family craft into a company, founding Le Klint formally in 1943, and Esben Klint's Model 107 from 1942 remains one of its defining early shapes. A new folder spends around a year learning the technique and two to three years mastering it, the same hand skill that shapes Lise Navne's ring formed Donut today.
