A Small Nautical Wall Lantern With a Caged Glass Shade
The Kichler Royal Marine Small Wall Lantern is an outdoor wall light with the look of a ship's deck lamp. A clear seeded glass cylinder sits inside a protective cage with two bands and a vertical bar, and the shade ends in a gently scalloped base. A curved arm with a round pivot joint carries it away from a rectangular back plate. It is neat, chunky and quietly old fashioned in a good way.
Distressed Black Finish
Distressed black is a dark charcoal with a speckled, slightly worn surface, as if it has seen a few winters already. Pale flecks show through the black, giving a gentle, cast metal texture. It makes the glass look brighter and it blends in with black window frames, slate and dark timber.

Where It Works Best
This is the smallest Royal Marine, so it suits narrow wall spaces, such as beside a back door, next to a side gate, on a porch post or under a shed canopy. On a larger frontage it works well in pairs either side of a door. It is the sort of lantern that looks natural on a harbour cottage, a boat house or a modern black and white house.
