The Maoo sphere, on its own

This is the frosted glass sphere from Karman's Maoo wall lamp, together with its black aluminium fitting, sold without the painted ceramic cat body that normally sits alongside it. There is no cat here, just the glass sphere and the wall fitting that holds it, sold either as a small wall light in its own right or as a way to replace the sphere on a Maoo wall lamp you already own.

The sphere is frosted, etched glass, 12cm in diameter, with the same tiny mouse shaped sticker suspended inside that appears on every Maoo. Even without the cat body, that detail carries over, so the sphere still reads as part of the Maoo family rather than a plain glass shade.

How it works

The sphere sits on its black aluminium wall fitting and takes one G9 LED bulb, max 5W, not included. Because it uses the same fitting and 12cm sphere as the ceramic cat wall lamp, it is a straightforward way to refresh a Maoo whose sphere has cracked, discoloured or gone missing, or simply a compact wall light on its own. This is the wall version, built to match the wall mounted Maoo cat lamp. If you need the equivalent for a table Maoo, look for the table version of this sphere fitting instead.
