The Zelda Single Mini Pendant takes Hinkley's sphere and column silhouette and shrinks it down to the smallest version in the Zelda range. A tapered, etched glass shade sits on a polished nickel hemisphere cup, giving a soft, even glow that suits a single fitting or a run of several hung together.

This variant comes in a polished nickel finish, paired with a tapered etched glass shade and a steel frame underneath. The bright, cool tone of polished nickel sits well against white or pale worktops and modern kitchen hardware, and this Zelda mini pendant is also available in other finishes if you'd rather have a warmer or darker look.

How it works

This single light mini pendant hangs from the ceiling on an adjustable cable, with a drop that adjusts from 38.8cm to 128.8cm so you can set the height to suit your worktop or table. It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included, so you'll need to add a suitable bulb to your order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. This fitting is Class I, which means it must be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

Its small scale makes it particularly suited to kitchen islands and breakfast bars, especially when hung in a row of two or three above a worktop. It also works well over a dining table, where a cluster of smaller pendants can do the job of one larger fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started small. When Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, his debut catalogue held just 14 lantern designs. This mini pendant carries a little of that same modesty in scale, taking the Zelda collection's sphere and column shape down to its smallest size. Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, bought into the business in the mid 1930s and took full ownership after Phil's death in 1937, and the company has stayed in the Wiedemer family ever since. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this pendant dimmable? Yes, it works with dimmable bulbs. If you fit a non dimmable bulb, the light will not dim even on a dimmer switch, so choose a dimmable bulb if that matters to you.

Does it come with a bulb? No, this fitting takes one E27 bulb but the bulb itself is not included, so you'll need to add one that suits the fitting and your preferred brightness.

How low can this pendant hang? The drop is adjustable from 38.8cm at its shortest to 128.8cm at its longest, so it can be set close to the ceiling or lowered well down over a worktop or table.

Can I install this myself? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be properly earthed as part of the installation.
