A confident, mid sized outdoor lantern
The Walker Single Medium Wall Lantern is built around one lamp position rather than two, giving it a slimmer profile than the largest Walker lantern while keeping the same bold, angular welded design. It works well as a porch light or exterior wall light, with strong American inspired lines and a warm Buckeye Bronze finish that reads well against brick, render or timber.

The two tone finish pairs a deep Buckeye Bronze body with Heritage Brass accents, sitting over an aluminium frame. A welded outer shape encloses a clear, bound glass shade, so the lamp itself stays visible rather than hidden behind frosted or coloured glass. It sits comfortably alongside other dark bronze or aged brass exterior hardware.
How it works
This lantern takes a single E27 LED bulb, which is not included, so you will need to add one to your order. It is dimmable if you fit a dimmable LED bulb. The fitting is Class I, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is designed for wall mounting at an entrance or porch, with the bulb sitting behind the clear glass shade.
Where it works best
With an IP44 rating, this lantern is weatherproof enough for covered or sheltered outdoor spots, including porches, front doors and side entrances. It sits between the small and large Walker lanterns in scale, so it suits a standard sized porch where the larger two lamp version would look oversized.
The story behind Hinkley
Hinkley started life in 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, when Phil R. Hinkley began making outdoor lanterns, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. That outdoor lighting focus never really left the business. When Phil became ill with tuberculosis in the mid 1930s, he sold half the company to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, who bought the rest and moved his own family to Cleveland to run it after Phil died in 1937. Four generations of the Wiedemer family have kept the company going since, and lanterns like this one still carry that original outdoor brief forward. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for UK wiring and CE certification, which is how this Walker lantern reaches Britain today.

Does this lantern come with a bulb? No. It takes a single E27 LED bulb, which is not included, so you will need to order one separately.
Is this lantern dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb. Bulbs that are not dimmable will not dim, even if fitted on a dimmer circuit.
