The Hinkley Reef Single Mini Wall Lantern brings a distinctly nautical shape to an outdoor wall light: a sleek capsule of etched glass held between two bold cast aluminium rings. In Victorian Bronze, that shape takes on a warmer, more traditional tone than the cooler Hematite finish, making this mini wall lantern a good fit for period porches, cottage entrances and older exterior brickwork.

The Victorian Bronze finish sits over cast aluminium rings, giving them a warm, slightly antiqued character rather than a hard modern shine. It pairs well with brick, stone, timber and darker painted doors, and works alongside other bronze or aged metal hardware on the same wall.

How it works

This lantern takes a single E27 LED bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to add one when you order. It's dimmable if you fit a compatible dimmable bulb. The fitting is Class I, which means it needs to be earthed through a three core cable. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started life in 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, when Phil R. Hinkley began making outdoor lanterns, launching with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. A century on, small scale outdoor lanterns like this Reef mini are still part of that same tradition, even after the company simplified its name from Hinkley Lighting to Hinkley around 2019 to 2020 and broadened into ceiling fans. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, which is how this Victorian Bronze Reef lantern comes wired for 220 to 240V and CE certified.

Is this wall lantern dimmable? Yes, it's dimmable as long as you fit a compatible dimmable LED bulb. Standard non-dimmable bulbs won't dim even on a dimmer switch.
