A rustic chandelier that adapts to your ceiling
The Middlefield 3 Light Chandelier is the most compact chandelier in the Middlefield range, but its drop stretches much further than most small fittings. This is a large fitting: the drop adjusts from a minimum of 72cm to a maximum of 326cm. Please check these measurements against your space before ordering. It's finished in Iron Rust, a hand applied finish, so expect gentle variation in colour and texture from piece to piece, and be aware that screens can show the tone differently to how it looks in person.
Iron Rust finish
The frame combines solid distressed wood with dark steel, and the Iron Rust finish adds a warm, weathered tone across the metalwork. It keeps the pear shaped wood finial that runs through the collection, which can hang inside or outside the frame depending on the look you want. The overall effect sits well with reclaimed timber, aged brass and black ironmongery.
How it works
Three E14 bulbs light the chandelier, and they aren't included, so add three to your order when you check out. Dimming works if you fit dimmable bulbs; standard bulbs will not dim. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It's wired to Class I, which needs a properly earthed supply. Once it's up, the adjustable rod and chain let you set the exact drop for your ceiling.
Where it works best
Three lights suit a kitchen island, breakfast table or dining room where the five or six light versions of Middlefield would feel too large. Because the drop is so adjustable, it also works well over a stairwell or in a room with a high or vaulted ceiling, where most compact chandeliers would leave too much chain on show.
The story behind Hinkley
Hinkley started small. Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, with a debut catalogue of just 14 lanterns. Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, bought into the business in the mid 1930s and took it over fully in 1937, moving his family to Cleveland to run it. His descendants have carried it through three further generations since. That family thread runs through pieces like this Middlefield chandelier, which brings the same distressed, hand finished detailing to a size built for smaller rooms. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK, converting them to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification, including this three light Middlefield.

Questions People Ask
Are bulbs included? No. The Middlefield 3 Light Chandelier takes 3 x E14 bulbs and none are supplied, so add three E14 bulbs to your order before it arrives.
Is this chandelier dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs. Standard non-dimmable bulbs will not dim, whatever dimmer switch you use.
How far does the drop adjust, and will it fit my ceiling? The drop adjusts from 72cm at its shortest to 326cm at its longest, with a 66cm height and 40.6cm diameter across the frame. Measure your ceiling height and the space above your table or floor before ordering, since this fitting can hang much lower or higher than a standard pendant.
Do I need an electrician to install it? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It's wired to Class I, which needs a properly earthed supply.
Will the finish look exactly like the photos? Not exactly. Iron Rust is a hand applied finish, so colour and texture vary a little from piece to piece, and screens can render the tone differently to how it looks in person.
