The Mayflower Single Wide Mini Pendant is the broader sibling to Hinkley's narrower Mayflower mini pendant, built to the same bold, traditional shape but with a wider amber etched glass shade. It's a single light fitting that works well as a compact kitchen or dining room pendant, with a drop that adjusts from 34.9cm to 109.9cm to suit different ceiling heights.

Mild steel and etched amber glass

This pendant is made from mild steel in a warm Olde Bronze finish, paired with an etched amber glass shade that softens and warms the light it casts. A yoke mount holder and cast tension knob detailing give it a traditional character that suits kitchens, dining rooms and hallways alongside existing brass, bronze or aged metal fittings.

How it works

This pendant takes a single E27 bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to add one to your order. It's dimmable if you fit a dimmable bulb and use it with a compatible dimmer switch. It's a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

Hang it as a single pendant over a small kitchen table, breakfast bar or dining table, or use two or three matching Mayflower pendants together over a kitchen island or a longer dining table. The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started small. Phil R. Hinkley set up the company in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products, most of them outdoor lanterns. A pendant sized for a single bulb and a modest ceiling drop, like this one, owes something to that same instinct for well made, unshowy lighting rather than anything oversized. The Wiedemer family took over not long after, Stanley first in the 1930s, then his grandson Rick from 1969, and the company has stayed in family hands ever since. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley designs like this Mayflower range for the UK market, converting each fitting to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
