A darker take on Lanza
Oil Rubbed Bronze is the darkest finish in Hinkley's Lanza wall light range, giving the collection's rectangular metalwork a moodier, more understated character. Two lights sit behind a linen shade and acrylic lens, so the light spreads softly rather than glaring. It's a fitting built for rooms that want structure and quiet contrast rather than sparkle.
Oil Rubbed Bronze finish
The frame is mild steel finished in Oil Rubbed Bronze, paired with an oatmeal linen shade and an acrylic lens that diffuses the light. The dark, matte tone works well against warm wood, black ironmongery and other muted, tonal schemes, and it reads as more architectural than decorative.
How it works
This is a wall mounted fitting with two lights, each taking an E14 bulb. Bulbs aren't included, so you'll need to add LED E14 bulbs to your order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earthed connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where it works best
The rectangular shape and dark finish suit hallways looking for a strong architectural note, as well as living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where a softer, linen shaded glow works well beside a sofa, sideboard or bed. It pairs naturally with the rest of the Lanza range if you're lighting a run of wall space or want a matching pair either side of a doorway or bed.
The story behind Hinkley
Hinkley started small. Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen outdoor lantern designs. A Lanza wall light like this one, with its clean rectangular metalwork and fabric shade, shows how far the range has grown since then. The business stayed in one family for generations, from Stanley Wiedemer's takeover in the 1930s and his grandson Rick, who joined in 1969 for a career that spanned fifty years, through to a fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, taking on leadership roles from around 2000. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Questions People Ask
Is this Lanza wall light dimmable? Yes, it's dimmable as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs and use a compatible dimmer switch. Standard, non dimmable bulbs won't allow dimming even with a dimmer fitted.
Are bulbs included? No. This fitting takes two E14 bulbs, which aren't supplied, so you'll need to add LED E14 bulbs to your order separately.
Where does this wall light work best? Its dark, geometric shape suits hallways and landings that want a strong architectural note, as well as living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where the linen shade gives a softer glow.
Does this need a qualified electrician to install? Yes. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It's also a Class I fitting, which needs an earthed connection.
Is Oil Rubbed Bronze the only finish available in the Lanza range? No. Oil Rubbed Bronze is the darkest finish in the range, and other finishes of the same rectangular design are available if you'd prefer a lighter tone.
