The Hinkley Bromley 3 Light Large Wall Lantern is the biggest fitting in the Bromley collection, built for a more substantial front door or a wider porch than the standard size allows. It keeps the same shepherd's hook arm and cast top finial as the rest of the range, just scaled up so it reads properly against a bigger house facade.

Oil rubbed bronze finish

This lantern is cast in aluminium and finished in oil rubbed bronze, a deep, near black bronze with warm brown undertones. It sits well against brick, render, stone or painted timber, and the finish is built to cope with life outdoors.

How it works

Three E14 LED bulbs sit inside the lantern. Bulbs are not included, so you will need to add these to your order. The fitting is dimmable if you use dimmable LED bulbs. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earth connection.

Where it works best

Rated IP44, this lantern is weatherproof enough for an exposed exterior wall, including a porch, entrance or anywhere open to the elements. Its larger scale suits a substantial front door, either side of double doors, or a wide porch where a smaller lantern would look lost.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. A century on, wall lanterns like this Bromley are still central to what the brand makes, even if they have grown considerably in scale and detail since then. Ownership passed to the Wiedemer family after Phil's death in 1937, and by around 2000 the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, had begun taking on leadership roles in the business. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, adapting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
