Hinkley Bingham 3 Light Medium Wall Lantern - Sienna

A gas light reproduction with genuine nautical roots

Bingham's traditional shape recalls a turn-of-the-century gas light, with a vintage, nautical character that nods directly to Hinkley's own beginnings on the shores of Lake Erie. This medium lantern is built for three lamps, giving a fuller spread of light than the smaller versions in the range.

Finish and materials

Made of solid brass and finished in Sienna, Bingham is fitted with clear seedy glass that adds texture and age to the light without looking artificially distressed.

How it works

Three lamp positions take candelabra lamping, in keeping with the fitting's period inspired design. This fitting doesn't come with a bulb, so you'll need to add one to your order.

Rated IP44, this medium lantern suits porches, entrances and garage walls, and its nautical character makes it a natural fit for coastal or period properties.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley Lighting's own history began on the shores of Lake Erie, in Cleveland, Ohio, where Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in 1922 as a small maker of outdoor lanterns, a nautical, industrial setting that this Bingham lantern deliberately echoes in its gas light styling. The business stayed in Cleveland and in family hands through Stanley Wiedemer, who bought in during the 1930s, and later his descendants, who led it into its current form. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has built designs like this one for the UK, adapted to 220 to 240V wiring.
