Museum Black is a deep, matte black finish over an aluminium frame, chosen to resist the weather as much as to look right on an old or new house. The heavily seeded glass panels add texture and soften the light, and the finish carries a 3 year anti corrosion guarantee for outdoor peace of mind.

How it works

This fitting takes 2 x E14 bulbs, sold separately, so you will need to add your own when ordering. It is dimmable when dimmable bulbs are fitted. Beacon Hill is wired to Class I, which means it needs an earth connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started life in 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, when Phil R. Hinkley began making outdoor lanterns, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. A wall lantern like Beacon Hill sits close to that original idea of the company, simple, well made outdoor lighting for the front of the house. Stanley Wiedemer bought into the business in the 1930s and took it over fully after Phil's death in 1937, and the Wiedemer family has run Hinkley ever since, with Stanley's grandson Rick joining in 1969 for a fifty year career. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs, including this Museum Black lantern, for UK wiring and CE certification.
