The Heritage Brass finish

Heritage Brass has a warm, softly aged brass tone that sits comfortably against both traditional and transitional decor. The steel frame, trim ring and clasps share the same finish, so the fitting reads as one considered piece rather than a mix of parts. The cast glass diffuser adds gentle texture and helps spread light evenly rather than as a single hot spot.

How it works

This fitting takes two E27 bulbs, which aren't supplied, so you'll need to add your own when you order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs, so check the packaging before you buy. The fitting is Class I, which means it needs to be earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley has stayed a family business since Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, bought out the remaining half of the company in 1937 and moved his family to Cleveland to run it. His grandson Rick Wiedemer Jr joined in 1969, and by around 2000 a fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, had begun taking on leadership roles of their own. Somewhere in that long family run the company simplified its name from Hinkley Lighting to simply Hinkley, between 2019 and 2020, as the range grew beyond lighting alone. A fitting like this flush light, reworking a traditional shape for a modern home, is the kind of design that continuity tends to produce.
