The smoke tint filters the light to a softer glow while still allowing plenty of brightness through, and the matte black frame keeps the overall effect contemporary and understated.

Choosing Your Finish

The smoke tint is darker than cognac but not as heavy as it might sound, it still lets through a good amount of light, just in a softer, less directional way. Paired with satin black, the result is refined without feeling too formal. The black braided cable is a nice detail when left visible. If you'd prefer a lighter shade or different finish, other Grove variations are available in clear, cognac, and other colours, and finishes include nickel and brass.

How It Works

The fitting is Class I rated, requiring an earth connection during installation. It accepts one E27 bulb up to 20W maximum, sold separately, and is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer. With an IP20 rating, it's designed for dry indoor spaces only and is not protected against splashing water or moisture.

Does the smoke shade reduce the light level much?
It softens and diffuses the light rather than dramatically reducing it. A 20W bulb will still give you good brightness, just without harsh glare or strong shadows below.

How is this different from the clear version?
The smoke tint creates a moodier, warmer feel and scatters the light more evenly. The clear version shows the bulb and filament, making it more of a design feature in itself.
