The Perola is GlammFire's suspended fireplace built around a simple idea: a central flame, visible from every angle, hanging in the middle of a room rather than tucked against a wall. In white, it takes on a soft, sculptural presence that reads as much as a piece of design as it does a heat source.

A 360 degree view of the flame

Unlike a wall mounted or hearth fireplace, the Perola opens on all sides, so the flame can be seen and enjoyed from wherever you are standing in the room. Suspended rather than freestanding, it works as a genuine centrepiece in an open plan space rather than a fixture along one wall.

How it works

The Perola runs on liquid bioethanol, producing a clean burning, genuine flame with no smoke, ash or soot. Because it needs no chimney or flue, it can be suspended from the ceiling in a way that a wood burning or gas fireplace could not, provided the room is properly ventilated and the ceiling structure is suitable.

Where it works best

The Perola suits open plan living rooms, double height spaces, hotel lobbies and restaurant interiors where the fireplace is meant to be seen and walked around rather than viewed from one side only. Its white finish suits bright, contemporary interiors and Mediterranean style properties.

Handcrafted in Portugal

GlammFire designs and builds the Perola by hand at its factory in Monção, Portugal, where the brand has manufactured luxury fireplaces since 2008. GlammFire states that every unit is tested and quality checked before it leaves the factory as part of a manufacturing process it says is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Questions People Ask

Is the Perola safe to use indoors?
Yes, provided the room is properly and continuously ventilated. The Perola burns bioethanol, so it produces no smoke, ash or soot, though as with any open flame it should only be used where there is adequate fresh air.

Can any ceiling take a suspended fireplace like this?
Not necessarily. At around 85kg, the Perola needs a ceiling structure capable of bearing that weight securely, so we recommend having the fixing point checked by a qualified installer before ordering.

How long will the flame burn on one fill?
GlammFire states the Perola's 2 litre tank gives around 4 to 6 hours of burn time, depending on the flame setting used.
