A Bold Cone Shaped Pendant in Soft Teasel White

The Hockley pendant has a striking, sculptural silhouette, a wide cone shade that tapers to a point and opens out to a generous 510mm diameter. In this Teasel colourway it takes on a soft, off white gloss finish with a warm cream undertone, and a narrow band of natural copper left exposed at the rim.

The Teasel Finish

Each shade is hand spun from solid copper, then finished with a smooth, off white gloss paint in the Teasel shade. The gloss gives the surface a subtle reflective sheen, while the inside of the shade is painted white to bounce light evenly downward. The copper is left bare along the rim, so a thin ring of warm metal shows through underneath the pale exterior, a small detail that ties the fitting back to its raw material.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and it is that same Welsh workshop that hand spins every Hockley shade, including this Teasel one, from solid copper.
