Soot: A Dark, Reflective Finish

This Hockley is finished in Soot, a dark charcoal grey with a glossy, reflective sheen. It is hand spun from solid copper, and a slim band of copper is left exposed around the rim of the shade, a small warm contrast against the dark body. Inside, the shade is white, which helps spread the light evenly downward once it is switched on.

• Supplied complete with a matching ceiling rose, 1.5m of black fabric cable and all the fixings needed to install it.
• Takes one LED bulb, 6W maximum, E27 fitting (bulb not included).
• Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
• Designed as a single pendant, though it also works well grouped in twos or threes for a fuller cluster.

Where It Works Best

At 510mm across, the Hockley's shade has enough scale to work as a single statement fitting over a kitchen island or dining table. Hang it on its own in a hallway for a strong first impression, or group a few together over a run of worktop for more drama. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. The copper trim on this Hockley pendant is a small trace of that same hot forged copper work, carried through from the company's ironmongery into its lighting.
