A Bold Cone of Colour

The Hockley pendant makes a statement with its wide, sharply angled cone shade. In this Dusk colourway the shade takes on a deep, almost midnight blue grey with a glossy, reflective finish, while a narrow copper rim traces the underside where the shade meets its bright white interior. It has real presence hanging on its own, but the same silhouette repeated in a row or cluster is where it really comes into its own.

The Dusk Finish

Dusk is a rich, dark blue grey with enough gloss to catch the light rather than absorb it. Because the shade is hand spun from solid copper, every one carries the very slight, natural marks of being shaped by hand rather than machine pressed, so no two are quite identical. The copper shows through only at the rim, where it forms a warm, narrow band against the white interior and the dark exterior.

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting became part of the range later, still produced at the same Welsh workshop using traditional hand forging and hot forging methods alongside modern engineering. The Hockley pendant carries that same hand finished character, with its shade spun and painted by hand rather than mass produced.
