The Harborne pendant brings a classic factory shaped dome into a bold new finish. Hand spun from solid copper and finished in a deep, matte Elan Black, it has real weight and presence overhead. Where the shade curves in at the rim, a slim band of natural copper shows through before the metal drops away into a glossy white interior.

The Elan Black Finish

Elan Black is a flat, almost powdery matte that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, so the shade reads as a solid, graphic shape against a ceiling or wall. Inside, the shade is finished in a high gloss white that bounces light back down and out, giving a clean, even spread rather than a single harsh beam. The contrast between the two finishes, with that narrow copper edge between them, is what gives this pendant its character.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Harborne pendant's spun copper base and hand applied Elan Black finish both come out of that same Welsh workshop.
