This single Brindley pendant is hand spun from solid copper and finished in Upstream, a deep gloss blue from From The Anvil's coloured range. A narrow band of bare copper runs around the rim, picking up the light against the white enamelled interior.

Gloss Blue Over Solid Copper

Under the paint, the shade is spun from a single sheet of solid copper, so it keeps the same rounded, classic silhouette as every Brindley pendant. The Upstream gloss finish is applied over that copper base, with a slim band left in bare copper around the rim. Inside, a white enamelled interior helps the light spread evenly rather than pooling directly beneath the shade.

Where It Works Best

Because the drop can be adjusted, the Brindley works well as a single pendant over a hallway or reading corner, or grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island or dining table. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley pendant's copper shade is made at that same Welsh workshop, spun by hand rather than mass produced.
