The Brindley is one of From The Anvil's classic dome pendants, with a deep, rounded shade that throws light down and around a room rather than just straight down. This version comes in Tump, a pale, muted green with a glossy painted finish, so it reads calmer than the brand's metal finishes while keeping the same solid, handmade shape.

The Tump Gloss Finish

Each shade starts life as a single piece of spun copper, then gets hand painted in the Tump colourway and given a gloss topcoat. The result is a soft, hillside green with a gentle sheen rather than a hard shine. Inside the shade, the copper is left polished and paired with a white enamel interior, so the rim glows warm copper when the light is on, and the beam itself stays bright and even.

• 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, so drop height can be adjusted at fitting.
• Takes an LED only bulb, 6W maximum, E27 fitting, bulb not included.

Where It Works Best

Its dome shape makes it a natural fit for kitchen islands, where two or three can be hung in a row at slightly different heights. Hung singly, it works just as well over a dining table, in a living room reading corner, or as a single statement light in a hallway.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley pendant carries that same handmade approach through to its paintwork, with every Tump shade finished by hand rather than sprayed on a production line.
