The Brindley pendant is From The Anvil's single dome ceiling light, hand spun from solid copper and shaped with the same rounded, classic proportions across the whole range. This version is finished in Slate, a smooth mid grey with a glossy sheen, which gives the shade a cooler, more contemporary look than its metallic siblings.

Underneath the paint the shade is still solid copper, spun from a single sheet and shaped by hand. The outer surface is coated in a smooth, high gloss Slate grey, while the copper is left bare and polished around the inner rim, giving a warm flash of colour where the light spills out. Inside, a white finish helps the light spread evenly rather than pooling under the shade. It hangs from black fabric cable with a ceiling rose finished in the same slate grey gloss, so the whole fitting reads as one considered piece.

• Single dome shade measuring 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height, hung from a 120mm diameter ceiling rose.
• Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose, 1.5m of black fabric cable and all the fixings needed to hang it.
• Takes one LED bulb rated up to 6W with an E27 fitting, bulb not included.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, with lighting produced at the same Welsh workshop. This Slate grey Brindley starts out as the same hand spun copper shade made there, simply finished in a cooler colour rather than left in a natural metal tone.
