Spun from a single cone rather than pressed from thin sheet, it has the kind of quiet, workshop made presence that a mass produced fitting cannot match.

Heath, an earthy green with a bright interior

This Brindley is finished in Heath, an earthy, muted green that reads as calm and grounded rather than bold. The shade is spun from solid copper, so it carries real weight in the hand. Inside, a crisp white gloss enamel lines the shade to bounce light evenly downward, while a slim band of natural copper is left exposed around the rim, catching the light where the two finishes meet.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, with lighting like this copper Brindley pendant now made at the same Welsh workshop.

• What bulb does this pendant need? It takes an LED bulb only, up to 6W, in an E27 fitting. The bulb is not included.
• Can I dim this light? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb and use it with a compatible dimmer switch.
• How long is the cable? It comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable, so the drop height can be adjusted to suit your ceiling and room.
• Will the exposed copper rim change over time? Yes. The rim is left in its natural copper finish rather than lacquered, so it will develop a soft patina alongside the rest of the fitting.
