The Dusk Finish

Every Brindley shade starts as solid copper, spun into its dome shape at From The Anvil's Welsh workshop. This one is finished in Dusk, a deep blue grey gloss that reads somewhere between navy and slate depending on the light. The exterior has a smooth, reflective sheen, while the inside is left in a bright white gloss that helps bounce light down and out from under the shade. A narrow band of natural copper is visible where the two finishes meet, giving each pendant a handmade, slightly individual look.

Where It Works Best

The 260mm diameter shade is wide enough to make a statement on its own over a dining table, or you can group two or three together at different drop heights above a kitchen island. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley pendant carries that same craft forward, with its copper shade spun and finished by hand at the same Welsh workshop.
