The Hockley Pendant is a bold, cone shaped light with a wide, sweeping shade and a clean line down to a single bulb. In Soot, its matte dark grey exterior gives it a quiet, almost architectural presence, until you look up and catch the bright, mirror polished nickel interior flashing back at you.

This finish pairs a soft, powder coated soot grey on the outside with a smooth nickel interior, so the shade reads as understated from across the room but reflective and bright from directly underneath. The shade itself is cast in solid brass, which gives it real weight and keeps its crisp cone shape, and the ceiling rose and cord fitter are finished in a darker tone to match the black cable.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop.

The Hockley Pendant carries that same workshop approach through to a shade that is cast in solid brass rather than pressed from lighter sheet metal, which is why it keeps its weight and clean lines once it is hanging.
