The Hockley pendant is spun from solid brass into a wide, graphic cone shape, one of From The Anvil's most striking lighting silhouettes. Hung on its own or grouped together, it draws the eye with its clean, confident lines and the flash of reflective nickel tucked inside the shade.

Bluff, a Warm Grey With a Cool Nickel Lining

This particular Hockley is finished in Bluff, a soft, warm grey with a hint of taupe running through it, so it sits comfortably against both cool and warm tones in a room. The outside is given a smooth matte coat while the inside of the shade is lined in polished nickel, which throws light down and out and adds a bright, reflective contrast to the muted exterior.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged there today, and brass and copper are hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering.

The Hockley pendant's brass shade is shaped using that same hot forging process, at the same Welsh workshop where the brand began.
